Bruce Lee (Philip Ng), legendary martial arts fighter, and his rival, Kung Fu master Wong Jack Man (Yu Xia), try to resolve their differences in a fight without rules. The fight will become the most important and emblematic duel of the career of the future great fighter and actor of cinema, a fundamental milestone in his trajectory.
The Origin of the Dragon arrives at the national cinemas very late, but at least it is there.
Unlike all previous films telling the story and legacy of Bruce Lee, this film tells an unprecedented story and that many do not know. How Bruce created his philosophy and style, Jet Kune Do.
It is interesting and curious for laypeople in the martial arts, that a style can have philosophy. And he has. Until the middle of the last century, karate, Kung Fu and other arts of oriental origin, were passed down from generation to generation. Or just taught to your own people.
Bruce Lee is one of those who broke with traditions, teaching Westerners the Chinese art of fighting and then breaking again with the rules by crossing the limits defined in the fighting style. And so the mixed martial arts was born, which so many people love when watching MMA, UFC etc.
For those who don't know, nobody knows who really won this fight. But the important thing about this film is not even the clash itself. It's seeing a different Bruce, more self-centered and even boring. Different from that philosopher and with teachings about humility that the films tire of showing us.
Another interesting point, is that Bruce does not appear so much in this film. The biggest highlight is the monk Wong Jack Man. He is not a challenge for Bruce Lee as many expect. He is the teacher, who teaches in a different way, making the student learn for himself.
The teacher must just show the way. Follow the journey, fall and get up, it's up to the student.

This is not a classic film and even focused on the cinema. It's more of a home video, to see at home with the family. Even so, it is worth going to the cinema at the end of the year and seeing something different that doesn't talk about Christmas.
And remembering, that this film is just a dramatization. Nothing that happens, even the fight, is real. Because as written at the beginning, nobody knows who won.
And let the curtains go up. To the next!
