Acer announces the national production of the Aspire Vero, the brand's sustainable notebook. The country will receive the manufacture of the device from September, when the machine will also be available for purchase in retail and at the Acer Store, the company's e-commerce platform in Brazil. The novelty was announced this Wednesday (20) during the brand's press conference in São Paulo.

Earthion encompasses several areas of activity, such as product design, production, energy, logistics, packaging design and recycling.

“It is an immense satisfaction to bring the production of the Aspire Vero to Brazil. In the country, the imported version of Vero is now available for purchase, but local production brings a new moment for the brand in the national territory, with greater reinforcement of the company’s sustainable actions and positioning”, claims Germano Couy, General Manager of Acer in Latin America“We hope, through this initiative, to encourage technological achievements for a better world and a more beautiful future for the next generations”, ends Couy.

Vero differs from other product lines for its green components and eco-friendly design. It is an equipment that is easy to repair, reusable and recyclable. That's because the extra space allocation and standard screws provide more convenience when upgrading memory or storage, thus extending the life of the notebook. This design also benefits and simplifies the post-use recycling process.

In addition, it is important to note that the model consists of 50% of PCR (post-consumer) plastics on the keyboard cover and 30% on the top and bottom cover and bezel, and more than 99% of the display is recyclable. Still on the keyboard, the mirrored R and E keys reinforce the main message of the line: REDUCE, REUSE REcycle.

In Volcano Grey, a combination of yellow and gray, the computer provides a modern and eco-friendly appearance, including comfortable tactile feedback from the textured chassis. The unpainted chassis also reduces the negative impact of VOCs (volatile organic compounds which include a variety of chemicals).

The Aspire Vero packaging also makes all the difference, being 100% recyclable, with 85% of recycled paper in the box and a functional design, with part of which becomes a kind of support for the machine to be inclined, providing a better position for typing. , increasing ventilation and consequently reducing energy consumption. It is worth noting that Acer launched the “Sustainable Paper and Packaging Policy” in 2012, with the aim of increasing the sustainability of global forest ecosystems. For its innovation, the packaging of the Aspire Vero has won awards around the world, such as the Red Dot Winner 2021.

VeroSense

VeroSense is Acer's integrated software to encourage environmentally-conscious users' goals such as energy saving to extend battery life. The app, included with the Aspire Vero, gives users four performance modes to choose from: Performance, Balanced, Eco and Eco+. The application offers ease of use, with a simple interface and useful information to show that each customer is doing their part for planet Earth.

Acer commitments to a better future

In addition to Earthion, Acer has other projects and initiatives to preserve the environment. In numbers, worldwide the brand has already increased 50.1% in energy efficiency in its notebooks compared to data from 10 years ago. In addition, another number to note is that, since 2011, Acer has saved 109,054 tons of carbon, including making a zero carbon commitment by 2035.
