Amazon Prime Video expands investments in Brazilian series and announces four new national productions

The Amazon announced four new original Brazilian productions during the event Prime Video Presents: Brazil in São Paulo, with series already in filming and some scheduled to start in 2020.

Joining the recently announced All or Nothing: Brazilian Team and Loose in Floripaare the thriller criminal action SUN, a “drama” about the life of a transgender singer September, a history of family relationship L.OV3 and a project, still untitled, with Marcelo D2 which will be a story full of hip-hop, which tells the lives of mothers in the favela and their daily obstacles.

In addition to enchanting local audiences in Brazil, each new Original Amazon series will be available to a global audience exclusively on Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.

SUN (provisional title)

Inspired by real stories, the series plot follows a man named Victor, a military intelligence agent who faced the drug war as his life's mission and after many years, must face the casualties in his personal life while watching his own son , Pedro, succumb to addiction. As Victor watches Pedro's life get off track with cocaine addiction, he discovers another side of his son's life, who also becomes one of the most wanted criminals in Rio de Janeiro: Pedro Dom. Directed by Breno Silveira and starring Gabriel Leone and Flavio Tolezani, the action thriller series is currently in production and is set to debut in 2020.

September (working title)

With an acclaimed production team, including writers Josefina Trotta and Alice Marcone, this series tells the story of a trans woman who, after many years of conflict, has her newfound independence interrupted by an unexpected twist of fate with the arrival of a child she had with another woman seven years ago. The series will go into production in 2020.

L.OV3 (working title)

From a creative team that includes Rafael Lessa and Felipe Braga, L.OV3 accompanies brothers Ana, Sofia and Beto as they explore the different forms of relationships, love and intimacy after witnessing the end of their parents' failed 30 years of marriage and need learn to reframe what commitment is to them, when evaluating new and existing relationships in their lives. L.OV * is scheduled to go into production in 2020.

Untitled project with Marcelo D2

> From the acclaimed producers Francesco Civita and Beto Gauss, from Prodigo Films, this new Original Amazon series is being developed and will tell stories of mothers who live in Brazilian favelas and their daily challenges.

The recently announced series joins the list of Original Brazilian productions Amazon, which includes All or Nothing: Brazilian Team already announced, a documentary that goes behind the scenes with the Brazilian soccer team on its way to victory in the 2019 Copa America tournament and which will premiere worldwide through Amazon Prime Video on January 31, 2020.

Prime Video also revealed new information about Loose in Floripa, one reality show that brings together eight fun young people from all over Brazil in the coastal city of Florianópolis for a journey full of parties, relationships and dramas. Confirmed to premiere in early 2020, the series will feature a panel of celebrities who will comment on the events of the series with each new episode. The reactions of these celebrities, like Pabllo Vittar, will be shown throughout the episodes. The other celebrities on the panel will be revealed soon.
