Sandra Bullock it is very versatile. Best known for her performances in dramatic works (including winning the Oscar for An Impossible Dream), the actress proved to have talent for comedies in Miss sympathy. A comedy starring Bullock and the new sense of humor Melissa McCathy was really promising, as a bonus, it would still be the first production buddy cop movie carried out by two women. The Well-Armed (The Heat) arrives bringing the two actresses, but unfortunately brings together many recycled jokes, passing the well-known situations of police comedies to a female version.

This does not mean that the plot is bad, but it is a little weak. The script follows a certain pattern proposed by this theme, but varies between moments that work and others that are forced. Sarah Ashburn (Bullock), is an FBI Detective very good at her job but terrible at relationships. No one can work with her, so Ashburn ends up missing the immediate chance of a promotion. To fight for the spot, Ashburn goes to Boston to catch a famous drug dealer and thus meets Mullins. Shannon Mullins (McCarthy) is a police officer who does not follow the rules, completely crazy, does justice by following “the rules of the streets”. Ashburn and Mullins end up having to join forces to solve this case and it is at this moment that we see McCarthy in his well-known sloppy and Bullock performance in a kind of repetition of his role in Miss sympathy.

The harmony between the protagonists is admirable, but that alone does not save the feature. The roadmap for Katie Dippold he could have given something equal to these two personalities and worked with something less caricatured. The end result ended up being just a short period of laughter and a great impression of wasted potential.

However, the film is still a comedy and if analyzed as a basic entertainment made for fun during its 90 minutes, it works.

The real joke was on the famous photoshop on Melissa McCarthy, which generated a lot of controversy. When trying to slim down the actress on the posters, they failed badly and the result promises to get more laughs than the film itself.
