Main competition of Smilegate's first-person shooter will be held in China, between December 4 and 9, and will be broadcast live and in Portuguese through the official CROSSFIRE Brasil channel

The Brazilians from Black Dragons and INTZ are not far away in search of the CROSSFIRE best team in the world trophy and a total prize of U$820 thousand, about R$3.1 million. Smilegate, developer of the free and online first-person shooter that has more than 660 million registered users, has just announced more details of the seventh edition of CROSSFIRE's main global tournament, CROSSFIRE STARS 2018 (CFS), to be held between Tuesday (4/12) and Sunday (9), in the cities of Taicang and Nanjing, China. In addition to the disclosure of the awards and dispute venues, another novelty is the unprecedented participation of 16 teams, four more than in previous years.

The vacancies for CFS 2018 were defined as follows: Brazil, Philippines and Vietnam, which compete in the CROSSFIRE Elite League, have two vacancies each; China, one of the favorites for the title and host of the tournament, has three more representatives; North America and Europe each have a spot and compete for an extra seat through a direct confrontation between the second best teams in each region; Egypt, Russia and Indonesia, where there are local qualifiers, have one spot per country, and a Latin American qualifier defines the last classified, which this year will be a team from Colombia.

Brazilians in the dispute:

The Brazilian teams Black Dragons and INTZ will represent the country in the world championship for having won the national qualifiers of CROSSFIRE STARS 2018, which brought together the most expressive teams on the national scene. Veterans of the sport, Black Dragons made history by being the first non-Chinese team to win an international CROSSFIRE tournament, Invitational 2017, held in Vietnam in 2017, while INTZ was the Brazilian team with the best placement in CFS to date, a fourth place in 2015.

Millionaire Awards:

CFS 2018 will offer a total prize pool of U$820 thousand, that is, approximately R$ 3 million. Of this amount, the winning team will receive U$500 thousand (about R$ 1.8 million), the second placed U$200 thousand (about R$ 740 thousand), the third U$80 thousand (about R$ 296 thousand) and the fourth U$40 thousand (about R$ 148 thousand).

CROSSFIRE is one of the most played FPS games online in the world, with over 8 million simultaneous users. In 2017, CFS broadcasts were watched online by 38 million people, and this year, again, all matches will be broadcast live and in Portuguese through the official CROSSFIRE Brazil channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/CROSSFIREZ8GamesBR/
