real life Annabelle
The off-screen Annabelle is a Raggedy Ann doll that Ed and Lorraine Warren claimed to be haunted. According to a couple of paranormal investigators and demonologists, the origin of the story dates back to 1968, when a nursing student received the doll, which soon began to "behave" strangely. After being taken to a psychic medium, it was revealed that the doll was inhabited by the spirit of a dead girl named "Annabelle". Soon supernatural activities related to the item intensified and the Warrens were called in to help, declaring her to be "demonically possessed" and removing her to the infamous Museum.
Fact or fiction, it is undeniable that the universe of The Conjuring franchise is an absolute success, setting a new benchmark in the horror film genre from 2013 and creating and making Annabelle one of its biggest stars.
