A + E Networks Latin America, with Sony Pictures Television today announced the launch of the channel Lifetime in Latin America and Brazil. The channel is scheduled to premiere in July 2014. The announcement was made today by Edward (Eddy) Ruiz, President and General Manager of A + E Networks Latin America, who will accumulate the functions of General Manager of the new channel.

"I couldn't be more proud to lead this new venture by A + E Networks Latin America and Sony Pictures Television," said Eddy. "Lifetime is one of the largest brands in cable channels in the United States and our expectations are for an excellent performance of the brand in Latin America".

The new channel will use a programming strategy divided into three parts: scripted drama series, non-scripted nonfiction series and original award-winning films. Among the scripted series is the debut of Witches of East End starring Julia Ormond, Mädchen Amick, Jenna Dewan Tatum and Rachel Boston. In addition, the schedule includes the series Devious Maids, produced by Eva Longoria and starring Roselyn Sanchez, Ana Ortiz and Susan Lucci; and Drop Dead Diva, carried out by Brooke Elliott. Nonfiction series include success Dance Moms , Bring It!, Abby's Great Competition , Kim of Queens and the new season of Daughters of the Good Shepherd .

The channel will count with the participation of big names, both in front and behind the cameras. Many programming successes in the United States are already confirmed for the new territory with exclusivity in the basic cable TV package, including the premieres of original Lifetime films such as: "Steel Magnolias" (Steel Flowers), starring Queen Latifah; Liz & Dickstarring Lindsay Lohan; The Untouchable: The Drew Peterson Story, with Rob Lowe in the title role; Tallhotblond (Perigos da Rede), directed by Courtney Cox and Call Me Crazy: A Five Film, executive produced by Jennifer Aniston.
