The cable TV station Starz announced the development of a sequel to the series Weeds starred by Mary Louise-Parker, which ran for eight seasons.

The news was announced during a presentation to investors made by Lionsgate.

The series was originally produced by Lionsgate, created by Jenji Kohan and broadcast by the channel Showtime. Parker also takes over as executive producer.
