CCXP19 opens registration for the Cosplay Contest

Cosplayers can now start preparing for another year of fierce competition at CCXP. Starting today (Monday, 14th), registration is open for the Cosplay Contest, one of the most awaited attractions of the biggest pop culture festival on the planet – which takes place between December 5th and 8th, at São Paulo Expo.

The contest will be individual and with themes of pop culture characters, coming from comics, cinema, games, series, movies and music, among others. To participate, it is necessary to access the website and fill in the form with the requested data, in addition to sending photos and a video of the performance.

It will be possible to register until the 28th of October (Monday) and participants must use all the resources at their disposal to perfect their costume. The first qualifying stage takes place on the internet. The public will be able to vote on the cosplays preferred by the site between October 29 and November 11. On November 12, the finalists will be announced who will earn credentials for every day of the festival and participate in the grand final, which will take place on December 8 and will feature Italian cosplayer Leon Chiro on the jury. The main prize for whoever takes the CCXP19 Master Cosplay title is a 0 km car, in addition to CCXP20 Full Experience credentials.

“Cosplayers are a very important part of the great celebration of pop culture that is CCXP. They give more life to the event and are a huge hit with the public and the media. Our contest is a way of giving more visibility to these artists, who spend the entire year thinking about how to excel in customs and performances. And those who are not selected for the grand final need not be discouraged. Everyone is welcome! We carefully prepare the entire structure to receive the cosplayers with the greatest possible comfort and organize a parade on the first three days of the festival, which have CCXP20 credentials as a prize”, says Marcelo Forlani, founding partner of CCXP.

Held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the parades are not part of the Cosplay Contest, but also take place on the Creators Stage. Any cosplayer who is at the event can participate, as long as they register in the Cosplay Universe – an area designed exclusively for these artists. The space has a dressing room equipped with lockers (limited spaces), mirrors and makeup benches, changing rooms and cosplay helper, for those last-minute adjustments.

Dates: December 5-8, 2019
Location: São Paulo Expo (Rodovia dos Imigrantes, km 1.5, Água Funda, São Paulo - SP)
