Presented during a conference in New York in May of this year, Microsoft announced its new line of tablets, the Surface Pro 3. The device has been highlighted as the next replacement for notebooks and promises to suit any task, from movies and games to performing tasks .
Responsible for presenting the Surface, Panos Panay, vice president of the company, highlighted during the event that 96% of consumers who own an iPad, for example, also own a notebook. He explains that the current tablets are focused only on the media and not on productivity. It is this segment that Microsoft wants to enter.
The tablet that can replace your notebook
To compete with the market, especially with Apple's MacBook, Microsoft increased the screen size to 12 ”- the previous model had 10.6”. Available with Intel's 4th generation processors (Core i3, i5 or i7), the device weighs 800 grams and 9.1 millimeters thick, with versions from 64GB to 512GB of internal storage.
Another novelty was the improvement in the pen of the device that is now lighter. With it you can write notes, browse the device and even make edits in Photoshop, in addition to being used to open applications, such as notepad, with just a click on the button.
After the criticisms received in the previous version, the Type Cover, protective cover with built-in keyboard, is thinner and has a larger trackpad. The device's support now allows a 150º inclination, adjusted for any surface, including the user's lap. However, the piece will be sold separately, in the amount of US$ 129, in light zul, dark blue, purple, orange and black.
The novelty has not yet arrived in Brazil. In the United States, the device arrives at the end of June, from US$ 799.
