Bates Motel it must not have been an easy script to write, after all, it was something that everyone knew the ending. So the creators decided to innovate where it was and even if their explanations for Norman's disturbances (Freddie Highmore) are just a justification, without any concrete data, the series did not end at the moment the film starts as expected at the beginning, the work gives an end to the character after the events narrated in the work of Robert Bloch and in the feature film Alfred Hitchcock.

The plot also invested in surprise. All the moments when the public already knew the result remained there, but were unpredictable. The known deaths occurred in different ways and at different times. Even the famous shower scene, from which Rihanna in the role of Marion Crane, was recreated, using creative freedom to pay homage to the original without changing the general understanding.

While Psychosis it was a revolutionary terror for its time, with a hint of psychological terror, Bates Motel explored the psychological side much more than the terror itself. This fifth season was even more intense, approaching Norman’s problems almost completely and still highlighting the consequences on the other characters, Romero (Nestor Carbonell) mainly was very affected and is not balanced now.

Bates Motel this incredible story ended well, surprising in its outcome, but maintaining the logical choice. Exploring the before and after of a character as complex as Norman Bates - and the entire Bates family by table - the series fulfilled its role by delivering to fans exactly what they wanted to see and promises to be missed.
