Criticism | Dead End Crime

0

Dead End Crime is the new film directed by Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones) and produced by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, the Russo Brothers, responsible for great films like Avengers: Ultimatum.

Detective Andre Davis (Chadwick Boseman) is in charge of finding the criminals responsible for the theft that just happened in a cellar and that also resulted in the death of several policemen during their escape. The fugitive duo Michael Trujillo (Stephan James) and Ray Jackson (Taylor Kitsch) have several packages of pure cocaine and need to leave the island of Manhattan, which becomes a challenge since their exits were closed so they could be captured.

Andre helps Narcotics detective Frankie Burns (Sienna Miller), but in the course of the chase and investigation the detective realizes that the story has holes and that what he finds out does not match the actions of the police. Known for being a detective who has already killed policemen, he carries a bad stigma within the corporation, but always staying true to his convictions.

Counting on a strong cast that also includes JK Simmons in the role of Captain Matt McKenna, the film has a lot of action from beginning to end, with a fast and exciting story to watch, but what stands out the most is the strong criticism present throughout the story. We found that even within the police, everyone who is present cannot be trusted, and the detective increasingly needs to be careful about the things that are happening around him.

Objectively, the story develops without major twists and turns, showing well the concept of less being more, especially when it comes to action films. Dead End Crime it holds by the way the scenes take place without being forced, without gunfire and cars exploding unnecessarily, it shows in the simplest way that even though it is a common occurrence it can result in good chase scenes and a captivating storyline.

Dead end crime opens December 12.
