Make a wish! is a film that has in its essence the construction of a fable - narrative, in prose or verse, with animal characters that act like human beings, and that illustrates a moral precept. Considering this premise, the production is for the whole family, as it mixes adventure, comedy with a dose of moral reflection.

In the plot we accompany the couple Alice Interpreted by Paula Patton and David character of Matthew Goode who travel for the first time together and with their children. This trip is intended to bring families closer together as adults are in a relationship. Initially, the children do not understand each other and everything becomes a reason for fights.

Matthew Goode and Paula Patton embark on a great adventure with their four children / Reproduction

Something interesting that we can see right away in the feature is that the four children have the same trauma that is configured in the separation of their parents and for various reasons, they still cannot deal with this situation in a more conscious way, especially the older and for this reason, they think a lot about the life they lived before and whenever they can, they express this desire to have the original family back.

The trip to the beach reserves great adventures and it is there that children have the opportunity to get to know each other better and through a magical creature called Psammed (voice of Michael Caine) that grants wishes in exchange for an offering - whatever it is, even shoes are worth it. However, it is like the story of Cinderella, wishes only last until sunset, so they need to be chosen wisely and consciously and it is from there that the plot takes shape.

The first part is fun, as it is the moment when we are introduced to children, the central problem and the creature, in addition to the wishes granted. Make a wish! works their interaction between them and with the environment. It is interesting that not only children, but adults also face problems in the relationship and this is a cool point that was shown in the feature. We see that even with the fights, all the children support each other and start to understand each other better.

Russell Brand and his cartoonish and forced character / Reproduction

The second and third part of the feature, on the other hand, is lukewarm and loses some of the youthful freshness it had. With the inclusion of the character of Russell Brand - he is 8 or 80, when he is good he is good and when he is a bomb he is a bomb… in fact, he is a very reasonable actor - the character Tristan Trent, the feature lost fluidity and was a little embarrassed, since the actor seemed a little forced in his interpretation. And the finish was faster than Formula 1 and it hindered the development of some things like the order placed by Ros (Teddie-Rose Malleson-Allen) that was misplaced on the big screen.

The photograph is not bad, but it could be better as well as the elements of visual effects that could be more elaborated taking into account the feature film based on the concept of magic. The soundtrack is within what is to be and the cast, with the exception of Russell Brand, deliver good performances. The roadmap for Simon Lewis and Mark Oswin manages to provide some laughs, especially during the desire of the hair Smash (Ashley Aufderheide).

In general, it achieves its goal, which is to entertain the family and the little ones. Make a wish! The film is based on two best-selling books that have already become classics in the UK: Edith Nesbit's “Five Children and It” and Jacqueline Wilson's “Four Children and It”.
