New Brazilian production from TNT, Galera FC debuts as a different comedy on a subject that is always on the rise in Brazil: football. Produced by The factory in partnership with Warner Media, the series created by Luiz Noronha features a footballer with international fame who wishes to return to Brazil, but discovers that it will not be an easy mission.
Focused on Elton Jr. (Maicon Rodrigues), a famous football player who supports his family with his fortune, the plot shows a life change for the player, who after an accident decides to quit his career and return to his country of origin. Obviously, both his entrepreneurs and his family are totally against this decision, since he is at the peak of his international career and is very profitable. Humor and criticism of the real world of the “famous” is presented among Elton's attempts to break the contract.
Galera FC goes beyond just a comedy. The series differentiates itself for having as protagonist a young black Brazilian who comes out of poverty, who carries a family plot, focused on the values and the drama of real life, and that is why it works. Among criticisms of the excess of material value and social image, the improper use of technology and the difficulties of women in maintaining themselves in work environments dominated by patriarchy, the work is amusing while making very relevant observations for society.
The comic part is very well worked, investing in extremely Brazilian situations and phrases, with expressions and "memes" that can easily laugh, without sounding forced or looking out of tune.
Showing the difficulties of professionals working with public image - ranging from a globally famous player to a influence who needs to sell his image to get more followers, or a journalist trying to make a career out of a predominantly male spot, Galera FC makes certain criticisms, which need to be shown, while having fun. A series with content and good to distract the mind, is a sure bet of the channel, which will certainly please.
