Ever heard of the Best in the World? Comedy Company The Best in the World was born in 1995 in Brasília, and since then has brought several plays with great success, among them Hermanotheum in the Land of Godah.
Hermanotheu na Terra de Godah was originally created in 1995 and is exhibited to this day in several cities in Brazil. The play tells the story of Hermanotheum, a typical urbane, obedient and good shepherd from the time of the Old Testament of the Bible. After so much success, the play won a screen adaptation.
The film is being released on Telecine and brings the original cast of the play into this adaptation. The story is practically the same, but with some additions in this version, which in no way spoil its mood. By the way, as said by the cast in the interview granted to the press (via online) this Tuesday (8), they had to pay attention so that many of the dialogues were not dated.
And this is very visible within the story, as some characters that didn't exist in the original story were added. The World's Best mood continues, much improved with these additions and a few changes. Well, for those who didn't get the joke, better watch it! The film was shot in Rome and also in the Atacama Desert in Chile. One of the curiosities told by the cast during the interview was that the place, which never rains, had a torrential rain that had not happened for over 10 years and that almost prevented the cast from reaching the film set.
And if the rain didn't get in the way of filming, something more serious almost led to the end of it. According to Jovane Nunes, they had to face a fire in Rio de Janeiro. He said it was very hot in the city, like setting fire to the head and that's exactly what a resident ended up doing: he set fire to the garbage.
When they saw the event, they thought that it would “make a problem” and a while later fire trucks tried to put out the fire at the scene. And between rushes to save the costume, everything ended well.
Returning to the film, these behind-the-scenes problems are not even noticed by the public. The feature is perfect in costumes, location and dialogues that become memorable. And speaking of memorable, fans who saw the play at the theater will be happy to hear Chico Anysio's voice as God.
