And it arrives destroying everything that happened from the third feature onwards. And fans can thank you.
As James Cameron rightly said, this is really the real third film and all the others can be considered exterminated.
Everything you would ever expect from a fictional action movie is here. The catch phrases, the drama, the adventure, the action, the comic parts and the real Sarah Connor.
The character played by Linda Hamilton was missed, as well as an Exterminator who has a real mission to be performed and not spend hours destroying everything and meaningless and copying ridiculously parts of the first two films.
For those who at some point liked something from the other films in the franchise, you can rest assured that James Cameron gave a great explanation in a few seconds for nothing else. But this will not be put, as it is a real spoiler.
Linda Hamilton, as well as Arnold Schwarzenegger, remains the main action stars. The actress' character is aging, bitter and wanting the blood of someone who is one of the reasons she found the new heroes of the film.
The actress shows the reasons that make her one of the main examples of a strong woman, but at the same time half stopped in time. This is for several reasons. The interesting thing is the shock when faced with new generations that are also fighting against the dominance of machines and the conflict that this brings. They are generations that have experience in fighting and have already suffered traumatic losses, but that in some ways make them enter a battle of egos.
Of the new actresses, Mackenzie Davis and Natalia Reyes, show a lot of charisma and chemistry. They are not secondary characters and are there for a totally justifiable reason and nothing forced into the plot.
The action scenes are very good and with a lot of fan service, which will lead many to delirium and those who have never seen anything about The Terminator will not understand what is happening. By the way, it is more than recommended that you watch the first two films to see this one. The rest is not even necessary.
The negative point was the fight scenes, which were very fast and with a rotating camera that makes the spectator dizzy without knowing what is happening or who is in the scene. In addition, certain clichés invented by the franchise could have been left out, such as the scene of the truck in the trailer, which added nothing to the plot and could have been done in many different ways.
Other than that, Terminator: Dark Destiny is an excellent film that lives up to what we know from one of the features that invented at least 90% of the chase scenes that are seen in the cinema.
Why should I see it at the cinema?
For being a fun movie and that leaves you stuck in the chair and in many breathless moments. For returning with the original cast and bringing a psychological drama about our doubts about the future and not knowing how to deal with future losses, even if they never happen, but which will undoubtedly occur somehow.
