The Crunchyroll, the global leader in offering anime fan experiences, announces that it will reduce the value of its premium subscriptions in approximately 100 countries and territories.
“Earlier this year, we promised anime fans that we would add more value to the subscriber experience,” said Rahul Purini, president of Crunchyroll. “Since then, we've expanded our catalog with more dubbed and subtitled anime, and in more languages than we've ever had. Today, we're excited to be able to offer premium subscriptions in select regions, in the local currency of those countries, and at a new, reduced price for both existing and newcomers. And that happens as we add more content to the service.”
Reducing the values should create consistency between the subscriptions of the Crunchyroll carried out through different channels, such as the website, mobile media and other devices, in each region. Among the Latin American markets where prices will be reduced in monthly fees are:
- Brazil, Mega Fan plan: from R$ 32.00 to R$ 19.99
- Colombia, Mega Fan plan: from 17,900 to 14,900 Colombian pesos
- Peru, Mega Fan plan: from 21 to 19 Peruvian sols
- Ecuador, Mega Fan plan: from US$ 9.99 to US$ 4.99
- El Salvador, Mega Fan plan: from US$ 9.99 to US$ 4.99
- Bolivia, Mega Fan plan: from 42 to 36 Bolivians
- Belize, Mega Fan plan: from US$ 9.99 to 10 Belize Dollars
- Guatemala, Mega Fan plan: from 45 to 39 Guatemalan Quetzals
The Crunchyroll offers both Fan and Mega Fan premium subscriptions. Such options make it possible to view the content without ads and give unlimited access to the catalog of dubbed anime, series in simulcast with Japan and manga. The signature Crunchyroll Mega Fan offers the same benefits, in addition to the features that allow you to watch content on four screens simultaneously, as well as offline viewing.
The Crunchyroll also expanded its dubbed anime offering. Soon, for the first time, fans in different markets will be able to follow a schedule of series with audio in Arabic, Italian and Spanish for Spain.
