CW announces renewal of its DC series

Darlings Jane the Virgin, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Supernatural also won renewal order

The North American Channel CW today announced its renewed series. As usual, several productions of the channel gained a new season, including, of course, Supernatural, which is going into its 13th year.

All series of the block of heroes of A.D were renewed, being Arrow (for the sixth season), The Flash (for the fourth season), DC Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl (both for the third season). Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend also won renewal orders, for the fourth and third seasons, respectively.

According to Variety, Mark Pedowitz, president of the station, said:

“Over the past few years, The CW has built up worthy programming, spanning our repertoire from DC superheroes to critically acclaimed comedies and sci-fi dramas. The early renewals of these seven series now allow our producers to plan ahead for the respective upcoming seasons, giving us a solid foundation for the future, with original scripted series to be released throughout the year.”

Not all CW series have been renewed, No Tomorrow and Frequency were left off the list, but are not yet cancelled. The president stated that the future of the series may depend on an agreement made with the Netflix, which will include the channel's productions in its catalog quickly, within eight days after the end of the season, so the broadcaster will be able to see if there is public interest in these two series so that they can continue.
