The Amazon Studios just announced plans for Eco-Challenge 2019, the most rigorous outdoor multi-sport endurance race on Earth, to be presented by the survival and adventure phenomenon Bear Grylls.
The ten-episode series will pit teams of four selected competitors from around the world against each other as well as against nature's most aggressive elements in this long and grueling 24-hour competition. If a teammate drops out, the entire team is disqualified, which adds to the pressure. The 2019 location for the epic international adventure will be revealed later this year.
Using state-of-the-art photography direction, the Eco-Challenge 2019 tests the limits of human physical and mental endurance in the most austere natural landscapes on Earth. Each team, made up of men and women, competes in grueling challenges over a 350-mile course. Previous Eco-Challenges have included rafting, canoeing, mountaineering, horseback riding, diving and mountain bike – those for the 2019 Eco-Challenge event will be revealed to selected teams later this year. Finishing the test requires teamwork, courage, skill and commitment; winning requires the extraordinary.
