Registration is open from January 15 to February 14 for the 1st at the Quebrada Film Festival. There will be three competitive shows in short films showing universes of young people, women and LGBTQI + who live in the periphery or central occupations of the city of São Paulo. There will be three categories: Shows Manas, Monas and Manos, made respectively by women, LGBTQI + and young filmmakers, all portraying the different realities of life on the outskirts of the city of São Paulo.

According to the director of the Festival, Stefanie Lacerda, the proposal is focused on the role of filmmakers from the peripheries. “We are in a moment of mobilization to guarantee, continue social achievements and to include historically excluded segments: poor, black, women and LGBTQI +”, stresses Stefanie, who served as assistant director of Miniseries on Play TV.

Curated by Monica Trigo, the 1st at the Quebrada Film Festival takes place from March 1st to 7th and will be broadcast on the platform SPCine Play. There will also be debates and chats on the Festival's social networks.

“We believe that culture is a key element, but as long as it values peripheral community initiatives that represent the diversity of the territories. That create opportunity for artistic individuals and collectives. So we are going to show films made by young people from the periphery, because cinema is a language that speaks to everyone ”, explains Stefanie Lacerda.

Somewhat nerdy and completely without social life, she is addicted in series and has a great interest in films, games and books.
