Already in his 80s and a decade after turning himself in to the police and confessing to killing 45 people, the serial killer, The old man, finally decides to give his first interview to a reporter from a neighborhood newspaper.
He reveals that he committed the crimes because these people did not contribute to the betterment of the planet. After The old man establish an almost friendly relationship with the journalist, the question at hand is: is anyone capable of killing?
The work was also presented in the theater, with the interpreter of the Old Man, Luiz Guilherme. The actor returns to his role, as in the script alongside Daniel Talent.
The old man it's almost a monologue, it's so fascinating that Luiz Guilherme's character becomes. The film has only three characters, they are Junno Andrade like Bob the Journalist and Luiz Amorim, like the jailer.
For this reason, the film practically takes place in the Old Man's cell, while he 'plays' with Bob. He doesn't seem to take anything seriously, but discussions about society are so simple and almost banal that you find yourself caught up in the discussion.
In order not to spoil the spectator's immersion, the only part that can be delivered is the one that is in the synopsis, because you are led to think and respond to Luiz Guilherme's character in such a way that you end up asking yourself: am I really capable? to kill?
The issue raised by the plot goes far beyond personal issues. He shows in a way thrown in the face, that is, calling us dumb, how much we just follow these rules out of fear of how society will judge us or religious issues. But as he never tires of saying that he kills and is not afraid to do it, if he had, he wouldn't do it, because he knows he will be caught at one time or another.
During the 'interview', the two characters dialogue, or practically only the Old Man speaks, stoking the completely primitive side of the human being. The one that leads you to go beyond your convictions, because who hasn't wanted to cross the line of sanity when the neighbor turns on the sound at the highest volume on a weekend when everyone wants to rest? Or that anger of the person who parks the car completely crooked in the mall, market, wherever, preventing others from being able to leave their vehicle there? Even that clueless young man who thinks the universe revolves around him?
There are so many examples that the viewer will say categorically that he would never actually do something like that, it's just a moment of anger... The old man, you will have only two thoughts: continue to lie to yourself or believe that you can exceed your limits.
But that doesn't mean you should overtake and kill everyone. Just realizing that there is a line and that everyone is capable of committing any kind of act. And when you understand that, you will surely be able to interview the Old Man.
