“Warner Bros. was responsible for the movie that defined my life, Enter the Dragon (Enter the Dragon). The movie that introduced me to Bruce Lee at age 6, and made me promise that, like him, I would be a writer, a martial artist, and a filmmaker. That alone defines what signing a deal with WarnerMedia represents in my life. DC Comics, Lord of the Rings, Matrix, Mad Max, Se7en, HBO, the list is immense. The passion became even stronger when my path crossed with that of Game of Thrones, becoming the series' ambassador in Brazil after having influenced the purchase of the books. If today, in addition to being a writer of fantastic literature, I am an audiovisual creator, it's because this company made me one. So nothing more fair than returning all this today to the Warner group, giving our best in creating content for HBO Max in the coming years. Working with this team is more than a privilege, it's a childhood dream come true”, says Raphael Draccon.
Carolina Munhoz is a journalist, screenwriter and author of ten bestsellers. She won the Young Brazilian Award as “Best Writer”, the Author category at the Shorty Awards in New York, and “Book of the Year” by the magazines Atrevida and Capricho, reflecting the great recognition achieved among the young audience.
“The first time I got excited about audiovisual was when I was eleven years old, I saw the Warner logo appear at the opening of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone to the sound of John Williams. My life was never the same again. The words that moved me so much and saved me from depression now took shape and I learned to love movies and TV as much as books. Being part of the WarnerMedia and HBO Max family was a big dream and we are incredibly happy to be able to create content together for years to come. HBO's writing and storylines have always seduced us and being able to develop and produce projects for the house is being too pleasurable. It's a company that owns our favorite superheroes, the fantasy series we love, and the best-written shows in the audiovisual industry, so having a first-look deal with this team is truly an honor and we're going to give our best creativity to this one. partnership”, comments Carolina Munhóz.
“We at WarnerMedia are pleased to announce the addition of Carolina and Raphael to the HBO Max team. In line with the most recent signings, the choice of this duo reflects the desire to expand not only the platform's portfolio in terms of local productions, but also the portfolio of fantasy content and literary adaptations. They are very talented professionals who will bring even more incredible stories to tell together”, explains Marcelo Tamburri, Scripted Content Development Leader for WarnerMedia Latin America.
