The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies) ends the sequence of adaptations in the book The Hobbit. Throughout the trilogy, there was a huge love-hate relationship. As explained in the critique of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, the exaggerated amount of Lord of the Rings in the films it ends up being unpleasant, but the productions are good and so there is an oscillation between excitement and indignation.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is the most serious example of my oscillation. The expectation was that the film would be something like Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King and basically be an eternal battle. There was a lot of battle, of course, but during much of the work the focus was on Thorin (Richard Armitage) and its internal battle. That was the good part of the plot, which managed to excite. But all of this ends when a huge part focused on Tauriel (Evangeline Lilly) and Legolas (Orlando Bloom) and then indignation comes.

The plot begins exactly where the predecessor ended, after the dwarves of Erebor, with the help of Bilbo (Martin Freeman), regain the vast wealth of their homeland and free the terrifying dragon Smaug (voice of Benedict Cumberbatch) over the City of Lake. But Smaug is not the only threat, a war between the five kingdoms is being formed to decide who will keep the recovered gold.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies concludes the saga in a dignified manner. It is the most faithful feature of the trilogy. Peter Jackson he knew how to take advantage of the material at the end of the book, exploring very well some facts that were only mentioned in reading. As always, the photo and effects of the feature are perfect.

Whoever likes the adaptation, even with all the changes to rescue the characters of Lord of the Rings, will surely love the work. Those who are also bothered by some of these changes may like it, but will criticize some moments.
