Dominion Invasion - The DC / CW Series Crossover

As usual, every year the superheroes of DC/CW come together to deal with solving a problem together. Last year the main protagonists of the DC Universe on TV faced each other in Flash vs. arrow and then banded together to capture the Captain Boomerang. Last year they needed to help Hawkwoman it's the Black Hawk to defeat the villain Vandal Savage in the crossover that would be the prelude to legends of tomorrow.

This year the house of superheroes has increased, in addition to Arrow and The Flash which already has a large number of figures in its teams, we have the Legends of Tomorrow and the Supergirl, even if from a parallel earth. Taking advantage of this large number of characters, the creators of this television universe prepared an even bigger event based on a 1989 comic book arc, Invasion. The choice of plot was right because the public needed to believe in DC superheroes again due to the bad year they had. Alien Invasion might sound cliché, but it always works well in superhero stories and was something we hadn't seen in the TV universe before.

The arc starts very well, more precisely in The Flash S03E08 with the Arrow and Flash teams summoning the time travelers of the ship waverider and Supergirl on Earth-38. The initial interaction between them is fun and there is a very interesting dynamic. However, even if it is a big crossover, each episode continues to work on its cores and develop its secondary characters, such as wally west, Caitlin Snow and the teacher Martin Stein, but without diminishing the proposal of the Invasion.

The most contained chapter of this event was Arrow S05E08; the 100th episode of the series was a tribute to the show and the characters that are gone, told in a moving and profound way.

Legends of Tomorrow S02E07 resumes the rhythm of the battle against the dominions, but without failing to have at least one time travel, which is a hallmark of the Legends series. Although the confrontation of all the characters against the aliens was very well choreographed, some characters were diminished, such as Supergirl. She should have had a bigger spotlight as she was the only representative of her show, and she didn't.

The overall result of this crossover it was extremely positive, apart from some ups and downs that bother, but don't interfere with the fun. And although the format of the CW series doesn't change (this is the channel's style and that's it, with its usual clichés, its catchphrases and its uniforms that look more like a "cosplayer battle"), INVASION was a great gift for us , superhero and DC fans. This mega event was pure HQ!
