The Hunger Games: Hope Part 1 is the third film in the series Hunger Games, based on the novels of Suzanne Collins.

The Hunger Games: Hope Part 1 starts shortly after the end of On fire, with Kat niss ever deen (Jennifer Lawrence) still recovering from the end of the Quartenário Massacre when it was rescued by the leaders of the rebellion led by the President of District 13 Alma Coin (Julianne Moore) and Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) and now it has to be the symbol of the rebellion, The Thrush.

As it could not be missing, there is also the presence of the dreaded President Snow (Donald Sutherland) which orders severe retaliation against supporters of the rebellion. And he continues to terrorize Katniss with white roses.

Having the film divided into two parts was an excellent idea, practically following the book as a script, with some changes here and there, such as showing the rebellion in other districts right after the readyprops (commercials done by District 13 so that the districts see Katniss as an example for them to keep fighting) and their terrible reprimand (which is not possible in the books because of Katniss' point of view). Another thing present in this film was the way in which they showed the violence (and even cruelty) of the capital's counterattack, which even with restraint still shocks the public.

It is worth mentioning the addition of Cressida (Natalie Dormer), the film director of the readyprops to the cast, who may be insensitive at certain times, but is only doing her job, excellently, for the sake of the rebellion.

In this work, Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth) gains greater prominence than in the first films, since Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) is under the control of the Capital, and shows that he really is Katniss' best friend.

A highlight of acting in this film is with Josh, who in other films did not have the material necessary to show his great talent, but in this one he had plenty and did not fail to deliver.

A change in the film, due to the great charisma of the actress and character was the presence of Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) in District 13, which took on the roles of Katniss’s preparatory team in the books.

Can't be quoted Haymitch (Woody Harrelson) with more than necessary comic relief in this dark film and Juliane Moore who managed to make President Coin more human than in the books.
