For the first time, the actor defends his innocence and talks about his permanence in the cast of 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald'

In an interview with the magazine Entertainment Weekly, the actor Johnny Depp talks for the first time about the controversies he caused when he was cast in the franchise films Fantastic Beasts. His first appearance in the wizard's skin Gellert Grindelwald, was in 2016, in the final scenes of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Two years later, he returns to Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and fans showed up, since the disclosure of their participation in the first film, weeks before the feature premiered, against the casting of the actor, who was involved in controversies of domestic aggression against his ex-wife, the actress Amber Heard.

Thunder has been following this case closely. Petition and petitions; boycott threats; charges for a placement of J.K. Rowling and the Warner about the insistence of Depp in the cast; retraction of the actor himself; replacement and even accusation that Rowling and Warner gave an attacker a movie to star in, they came up among fans who see in Harry Potter, disagree with what happened.

"I'll be honest“, started, “I felt bad for JK. having to fight all these feelings from people out there“, confessed the actor. "The facts are that I was falsely accused", said Depp.

In May 2016, Amber Heard accused Depp of physical and psychological aggression, claiming that during the marriage, the actor had been abusive. The case ended up in the courts. Between accusations of lies and attempts at financial gain, Heard and Depp signed an agreement in August of the same year.

A statement, signed by the now ex-couple, said that their relationship was intensely passionate and, at times, volatile, but always permeated with love and that there was never any intention of physical or emotional damage. Currently, the actor is filing a lawsuit against the tabloid The Sun, who at the time reported the case, for defamation.

"JK he saw the evidence and therefore knows that I was falsely accused. That's why she supported me publicly. She does not fool“, revealed the actor.

Rowling defended the actor's permanence, after numerous fan charges on his personal profile on Twitter. In his positioning – he used a lot of the words of the Warner, which until that moment, had also been in favor of the permanence of Depp in the cast -, the screenwriter understood the reason why so many people are confused and angry for not replacing the actor and based on his understanding of the whole case, he also argued that Depp remain in the cast.

"Rowling I wouldn't do it if I didn't know the truth (…) I feel that the main thing for an actor is his loyalty. It's my job to reinforce the author's vision and be true to the director's vision. There is truth in my vision (…) My intense loyalty is not only to JK and David Yates, but also with the people who are going to watch the movies, the people who invested their lives in this magnificent and incredible world that JK created“, Finished Depp.
