O Amazon Prime Video announced the new Brazilian comedy series Original Amazon LOL: If you laugh, it's over, which will be presented by the actor and comedian Tom Cavalcante in partnership with Clarice Falcon. In this reality show, a group of Brazilian comedians will compete against each other to see who can not laugh and at the same time try to make their opponents laugh as they fight for a prize of R$ 350,000 that will revert to a charity chosen by the winner . LOL: Se Rir, Já Era will be released exclusively on Prime Video in Brazil and in more than 240 countries and territories, and will introduce to the world audience some of the best talents in Brazilian comedy today.
The production is the tenth adaptation of the Japanese series Original Amazon HITOSHI MATSUMOTO Presents Documentary, which since 2018 has released local editions in countries around the world, including Mexico, Australia, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and India, as well as the recently announced adaptation for Canada. The six-episode Original Amazon series will bring together a group of 10 comedians from a variety of comedy styles: stand-up, improv, physical and character comedy, to name a few. The series is built around a single rule – whoever laughs, loses – and pits opponents face-to-face for six hours of jokes, with the last surviving comedian winning the grand prize.

LOL: If you laugh, it's over is produced by Format to Amazon Studios, with Pedro Antonio and Eduardo Pupo acting as showrunner and director, respectively; alongside Daniela Busoli, Leonardo Lopes and Claudia Alves as executive producers. The series is the newest installment in the successful franchise, with Tom Cavalcante and Clarice Falcão joining the team already formed by other famous hosts from the LOL franchise at Amazon Studios, including Eugenio Derbez in the mexican series LOL: Last One Laughing and Rebel Wilson for the Australia edition.
