It A Thing, is without a doubt a great adaptation

When it was announced that it would be adapted for theaters, many fans of Stephen King and even the 1990 film turned up their noses. But the reactions seen in the cinema were completely different. It is a consistent film, with captivating characters and a terrifying villain.
But this villain is not just Pennywise, played spectacularly by Bill Skarsgård, but also some of the townspeople. I won't give spoilers.

This first film is a presentation of the characters that face Pennywise and just a little about the Dancing Clown and the mysteries that surround the city. It's hard to write about him and not talk about his already guaranteed sequel.
Already moving on to the next film, which should address the psychological side of Pennywise, Bill said in an interview with the British Metro Journal:

“What I can say is that I am connected to the project. It's still early in development and I talk to Andy about the story and how we're going to adapt this sequel. It will be something different from what was shown in the first feature. We will bring greater depth to Pennywise and I want to go deeper into the psychological and metaphysical side of the character.”

Deep no?
From the actor's comment for the second film, you can see the care with which It was made. All the content, at least what could be adapted, is on the screen.
The dramas of the characters, the love doubts, etc.
But, as always, there's a but, in an age of so much censorship imposed by society itself, It cannot more directly address social criticism as any good horror movie does.
He's kind of light with it. Like the case of the character who suffers from racist prejudice, but is in a way even veiled. Nowhere in the dialogues do the characters call him pejoratively. Not only with color, but also with physical attributes and more serious problems such as family members, which involve aggression and child abuse.
Even so, It convinces! It becomes a fun movie and if the person has not read the book, they will undoubtedly want to buy it to understand more about the character and the universe created by Stephen King.
Now, go to the movies and have fun!
And let the curtains go up! To the next!!
