The trilogy of The Hobbit it's complicated. As it is an unnecessarily extensive adaptation for such a small book, there are two ways to watch the feature films: either you completely forget any information about the original work and enjoy the action and visuals of the films, or you are completely irritated during the entire exhibition.

I fit the second case, no matter how hard I try it is impossible to ignore the changes and addenda made by Peter Jackson for purely commercial reasons, aiming to transform this trilogy into an extension of The Lord of the Rings.

As in The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey, The Hobbit- The Desolation of Smaug suffers from the scenes clearly prolonged in a plot that could be resolved more simply. Starting exactly where the predecessor left off, the long lead Bilbo (Martin Freeman), Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and the dwarves led by Thorin (Richard Armitage) for much more dangerous paths.

However, even repeating some of the predecessor's defects, it is far superior in relation to quality. Regardless of whether or not you like the changes presented, the feature has an impressive visual and invests in the action, which greatly improves the experience, with certain moments of accurate comic relief.

Any mistakes, dislikes or mistakes you may encounter during the film, are easily overlooked when Smaug pops up. The dragon was divinely done, perfectly completed by the incomparable Benedict Cumberbatch. Unlike the rest of the production, the scenes with the dragon do not hold attention with the action, but with the visual beauty and perfection in the representation of the mythical animal.

Even with your unnecessary moments (and certain characters), The Hobbit- The Desolation of Smaug And a good movie. The scenes of action, visual and quality of the production compensate the trip to the cinema, however much the reformulation of the work of Tolkien don't please.
