The American Guest | HBO Max presents official trailer of the Brazilian miniseries

The HBO Max released the official trailer for The American Guest, which premieres September 26 on HBO Max and HBO. With the creation and direction of Bruno Barreto, the original production is carried out by Aidan Quinn and Chico Diaz, in the papers of Theodore Roosevelt and Cândido Rondon. Based on a true story, the Brazilian miniseries recounts in four episodes the expedition of the former US president through the Amazon region, alongside the Brazilian explorer.

The plot takes place in the early 20th century. After a bitter defeat in the US presidential campaign, Roosevelt sets out in search of his lost youth in the Brazilian jungle, alongside his longtime friend Farrel Nash (David Herman) and son Kermit (Chris Mason), with the objective of exploring the last uncharted river in the country: the Rio da Dúvida, in Rondônia.

On a journey fraught with deadly dangers, the former president has the support of the sertanista, then a military man responsible for connecting the most remote regions of the country. On this journey, the two men of different profiles will have to test their physical and moral limits, as well as learn to deal with their conflicting personalities in order to survive.

The cast also has Dana Delany, Trevor Eve, Theodore Cochrane, gene jones, Jeff Pope, Nick Westte, Maya Kazan, Claudio Jaborandy, Arilson Lucas, João Cortes, Michel Gomes, Arieta Correa and Luisa Rosa.

The American Guest is an exclusive HBO miniseries, co-produced with Teleimage, created and directed by Bruno Barreto and scripted by Matthew Chapman. The production has resources from Condecine – Article 39.
