Happyland

It's no secret to anyone that the MTV decided to bet big on series. As it is always more involved with the teenage audience, most of the channel's works are aimed at this audience.. happyland is exactly in the middle ground, in the category Young Adult and in “Drama”.

I will explain better, happyland  is focused on the workers of a park of the same name, which aims to bring a little cartoon fantasy to children. While we see fun situations typical of teen series, we are also presented with the dilemmas of the characters' adult lives, there is the middle ground of happyland.

the pilot of happyland I liked it a lot. Showing the backstage of a fantasy world, proving that working in a costume all day is not as fun as it sounds, was an original idea and immediately won me over. Lucy Velez (Bianca A. Santos)and his mother, Gloria Velez (Camille Guaty) are the high point of the series. The contrast between the daughter, who is the most adult in the relationship, wanting to get a job outside of happyland, while the mother is the best princess in the park and says she is Lucy's sister so she can flirt puts the Velez family among the viewers' favorites.

Happyland MTVAs usual, especially in public-facing series teen, we have the famous clichés. Starting with the romance between Lucy and Ian
(Shane Harper), who quickly becomes her (literally) Prince Charming, just in time to discover they are brothers. This information, in addition to being cliché, is very predictable throughout the episode. Some speeches are also well known. But, as they say, “clichés are clichés because they work”, so this flaw can be ignored.

happyland was created by Ben Epstein and premiered on September 30th in the US. It doesn't have a premiere date in Brazil yet.
