Ray Donovan (Liev Schreiber) is an expert at cleaning up the mess and erasing evidence from rich and famous people in Los Angeles. Help your troubled siblings, Terry Donovan (Eddie Marsan) and Bunchy Donovan (Dash Mihok) and tries to protect his family, his wife Abby Donovan (Paula Malcomson), your son, Conor Donovan (Devon Bagby) and your daughter, Bridget Donovan (Kerris Dorsey). But with such a job it’s difficult to protect them, and the situation gets more complicated when your father, Mickey Donovan (John Voight) is unexpectedly released from the prison where he stayed for 20 years.
Ray Donovan works for a powerful Goldman & Drexler law firm, representing the rich and famous of Los Angeles, with directors Ezra Goodman (Elliot Gould) and Lee Drexler ( Peter Jacobson). Ray is the one who makes arrangements to clean his clients' bars, sometimes by illicit means. Ray is labeled as feelingless, but he shows a good heart in some situations.
The first season has 12 episodes and the large audience it had in the first episodes has already been renewed for a second season.
Liev Schreiber, who besides being handsome, charming and talented, has a wonderful voice, shows all his acting potential. Who remembers him, like the silly movie Kate and Leopold? Then it was Victor at Wolverine Origens, he deserved to be a protagonist, as now.
John Voight is also a great villain, I don’t remember seeing him playing a role that wasn’t a villain, he’s always what makes us angry, he’s a good actor, very versatile, he even dances on this show.
Ray Donovan's theme draws attention right away for his controversy. Protagonists who suck but win over the audience are always very interesting.
The series is a big bet for this year, and I believe it is right. Besides being renewed, it is very promising.
