Primeiras Impressoes Scream Queens

With the proposal to be a trash for television, Scream Queens is one of the most anticipated debuts of this Fall Season, exactly because it is different.

Like all good Trash, Screm Queens managed to mix comedy and terror well (more comedy than terror ...), tending to the parody side of the thing. At first, it bothered me. Right in the first scene, with the girl having a child in the bathtub and saying she didn't know she was pregnant, I already started turning on my absurd sensor and wrinkling my nose for the series, but by the time of the episode I was already satisfied that the proposal it was really being trash, abusing those absurd student characters of American works, and I started to like it. In the second episode (it was a double debut) I already knew that I was going to accompany the whole season.

In Scream Queens, we accompany the members of the fraternity Kappa Kappa Tau, which we soon see are of no use. Twenty years earlier, a girl died from having a child in the bathtub during a party and being abandoned by friends who were having too much fun to help her. Nowadays, the fraternity leader, Chanel (Emma Roberts), kills the housekeeper by dipping his face in hot oil and gives the Red Devil, a serial killer, to demonstrate.

Everything gets worse when the Dean, Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis) decides that the KKT fraternity should open the door for any and all students on Campus. Munsch does not like Chanel, because he knows the past - and present - of her, so he wants to damage the “image” of KKT. Among the new freshmen are Hester Ulrich(Lea Michele), Zayday Williams (Keke Palmer) and  Grace Gardner (Skyler Samuels), which aims to investigate the murders with the help of Pete Martinez(Diego Boneta), who calls himself a detective.

The best part of the work is due to the creation of the characters. Even though the strange freshmen are not exactly original, we have seen other girls with cervical collars and the style of “male women” entering fraternities in other works, the credit was even for the former members of KKT. Chanel shows all her narcissistic personality by calling her companions Channel #2 (Ariana Grande), Chanel #3 (Billie Lourd) and Chanel #5 (Abigail Breslin), and they show their blind devotion in accepting this and all their absurd orders.

Finally, of course it has a touch of mystery. There's no way to put a Serial killer in a series without sharpening the curiosity to know his identity and to leave several suspects, we have strange characters that appear apparently without any purpose, like the Gigi Caldwell (Nasim Pedrad), who appears to defend the KKT in the beginning but ends up becoming just a nutcase that nobody knows for sure what she is doing there, along with some other cast members who appear in suspicious scenes every now and then.

Created by Ryan Murphy, Scream Queens is one of those series that will completely conquer some and provoke the hatred of others. As I mentioned, it is a trash very well done and reflects on both sides, who likes this style will love Scream Queens, who does not like or did not understand the proposal, will find a production badly done. I love trash with absurd deaths, so I'll watch it until the end.

It is also worth remembering that the name lives up to the series, everyone screams all the time during the episodes.
