" The Red Queen lives and seeks to destroy the one who betrayed her. “

The Darkest Side had a dubious end, where the Wonderland it was only momentarily saved. In Behind the Mirror, everything was going well in Alyssa's human life, she's dating Jeb, your mom is back home and your relationships at school are better. But still something bothers her: Morpheus never stops appearing in your dreams.

Quickly, everything turns upside down in your life again. Morpheus goes to the human world and a threat is installed there. This makes Alyssa discover more about her mother's past and be surprised to learn that she also tried to save Wonderland and has the same powers intraterrestrial than the daughter.

With the Red's threat to destroy Alyssa and her world becoming more and more dangerous, Jeb, Morpheus, Alyssa and Alison need to unite to save everyone. However, this task will be further complicated by the love battle of each one, since Alyssa's father still doesn't know the family secret, Jeb has lost his memory and Morpheus uses all his flirtatious charm at all times with Alyssa.

This book, as the cover implies, is more focused on Morpheus. We see more about the character, better understanding his past and falling even more in love with him. The love triangle is much more prominent here, the fights over Alisson's attention are constant and even a little irritating.

“You need a man who knows and understands you, Alyssa. Its two sides. A partner. "

The narrative being in the “Real world” left an interesting perspective on the work, since magic and strange creatures are being openly displayed there. It is really interesting to see how these elements are better accepted in a fictional world and yet, Howard managed to harmonize them in this work.

Behind the Mirror suffers a little from the lack of excitement in relation to its predecessor, but this is even common in a second volume. The author focused on presenting more of each character's life, leaving the right gaps for Anywhere else, which promises to be very emotional and electrifying.
