It is almost impossible to speak of Mogli- The Wolf Boy and not taking a trip back in time through all the memories of your childhood. For this very reason, the new feature film Disney will please adults and children, reliving a well-known story with new and beautiful details. Based on The Jungle Book (The Jungle Book) in Rudyard Kipling, Mogli already had his life told by Disney in the 1967 animation and now returns to theaters as Live-Action.

Mogli (Neel Sethi) is a boy raised by wolves. When little was found by the panther Bagheera (voice of Ben Kingsley) and taken to the pack of Akela (voice of Giancarlo Esposito), where it was adopted by the wolf Raksha (voice of Lupita Nyong'o) and raised as one of its children. However, the dangerous tiger Shere Khan (voice of Idris Elba) sees the “cub of man” as a threat, chasing the boy.

In order not to leave your pack at risk, Mogli ends up being taken by Bagheera to the village of men, but the path is dangerous, in addition to the threat of Shere Khan's imminent attack, the forest offers many risks.

Mogli- O Menino Lobo

Right at the beginning of the film we can see that his tone is much more adult. Even though it has a plot considered childish, it is clear that Disney wanted to offer a light work that also pleases (or more) parents. The heavier load in the construction of the scenes leaves the viewer apprehensive during almost the entire length, being relieved only in the apparitions of the known and loved Baloo (voice of Bill Murray). Still, emotion is the highlight. This heavy load serves to make the work even more exciting, especially for adults.

Mogli

I believe that commenting on Disney visual effects is redundant today, we all know the potential of the company and Mogli- The Wolf Boy leaves nothing to be desired. The look is really impressive, especially in the creation of the animals, which were incredibly convincing with the help of the great voice acting of the entire cast. I watched the subtitled version, so I can't judge the Brazilian one, but a team with Marcos Palmeira (Baloo), Dan Stulbach (Bagheera), Julia Lemmertz(Raksha), Alinne Moraes(Kaa), Thiago Lacerda (Shere Khan) and Tiago Abravanel (King Louie) has to do well.

Resenha Mogli

We can't help talking about the performance of newcomer Neel Sethi, who went through a long selection process until he received the role. The boy bravely faces his role as the protagonist and practically the only real actor in the film. It is not easy to convince in an interaction with beings that do not exist in the recordings and Sethi does it without problems, showing a talent worthy of great people.

Anyone like me who grew up watching and falling in love with animation will love the new version. Good luck trying not to sing “Just What Is” out loud at the cinema! 😉

Directed by Jon Favreau, the feature arrives tomorrow, April 14, in theaters.
