** *Heads up! It has spoilers for those who haven't read Witch of the Night***

After finishing reading Night Witch, was already crazy with anxiety to read the sequel. The reading managed to catch me again, however, I thought that Shadow Spell it loses some of the excitement about the first volume of the trilogy for a simple reason: repetition.

Not wanting to give any spoilers, but the pattern chosen by Nora Roberts in writing the trilogy left a little to be desired, events change almost nothing and I felt in a time loop, with the difference of seeing more of Connor than of Iona. As I mentioned in the previous review, Nora Roberts decided to narrate each book in the trilogy focused on one of the O'Dwyers. The problem is that this choice made everything very predictable, and if we add the synopsis that tells you practically all the work, we lose almost all the suspense.

That's not to say the book is bad, it's just not surprising. Anyone who has read the first volume will definitely want to read them all to see how it ends, and some may find this repeated pattern an advantage, such as “Don't mess with a winning team”.

shadow spell presents us with more than Connor and Meara, who decide to venture into a complicated love relationship. Connor indulges in this relationship much more, as Meara has some emotional issues and stays a little apart. Both need to be very careful that their problems do not affect the entire powerful circle relationship.

Again, we have a fair amount of Ireland on the job, much to everyone's delight. Roberts invested heavily in the novel this time, even more than in Night Witch, but of course not forgotten all the mission and magic. Roberts gives us some hints of the path that the end of the trilogy intends to follow, which will not be lacking, it seems.

Shadow Spell it delivers on its promises, even if it doesn't leave much room for suspense, it deepens the story of the chosen characters and leaves us with a great curiosity to know how this saga will end.

Now all that's left is to wait for the release of Blood Magic!
