famous for the series goosebumps, RLStine is considered the Stephen King of youth literature. In this series of yours street of fear, the author brings together several different horror stories, all set in the old town of Shadyside, always witnessed by one of the school's young students. Rua do Medo has many works, around 16 translated in Brazil and no less than 52 in the original language. To our delight, each book has an isolated tale, giving the opportunity to read without the need for any previous reading.

Macabre Games is narrated by Rachel, a young girl who is invited for the first time to the birthday of the boy she likes. The party will be in an isolated house, of the family Fear, which is known for the legends of hauntings. Even though her friends are advised not to go, Rachel decides she doesn't believe in horror stories and goes to the party. Once there, he regrets witnessing murders, all with game themes.

Macabre Games it's a juvenile work, so I started reading it with low expectations, however, Stine surprised me. The author manages to leave the mystery in the air throughout the reading, without missing a beat. He also plays with the supernatural, always leaving in the air whether it's something haunting or not, using logical explanations. The theme of the book is very interesting, deaths based on common games, not electronic ones, give a little more flavor to the plot.

However, even with a well-crafted plot, Macabre Games it's very simple and even a little predictable. For children/teenagers it is a full plate, as they are not yet saturated with horror stories with the same elements. For adults it can be a little disappointing. But hey, it's a youth work, so you already knew what you were getting into when you set out to read...

Macabre Games is a fluid and fun read that is sure to appeal to those who like basic horror and suspense, not to mention lovers of the old series. Firefly. Stine's writing certainly pays off, but I recommend you read keeping in mind that the focus is on being simple.

Ps: I was very curious to know the theme of the other volumes.
