Work written by the national author Felipe M. Oliveira, the falcon's gaze tells the story of Uryyah who woke up on top of a tower in a desert location after being brutally beaten by 30 men. Armed only with his hawk-headed sword, he opted to return to the citadel and discover the truth behind that barbarity. During reading, there are many ordeals that the character Uryyah has to overcome, such as hunger and thirst. But none of the difficulties he went through made him give up.

A reading that flows from beginning to end. It's a very elaborate text, with well-described and well-constructed characters and places, and because it's a short production, we can read it in two hours or even less. The author managed to unite something of universal knowledge and made it an original story that brings important lessons for all who opt for a brief reading, but with profound content.

Characteristics like humility, spirituality, prudence and courage are very strong in our main character. At first, we didn't quite understand why a father tells all this story of jealousy between two brothers and yet, when we reach the end, the revelation is surprising.

A very interesting detail of the book is the part “Inside the short story” where the author talks a little about the creation process of the work and all its cultural deepening process to describe the scenarios, characters and their connections. Some things make more sense after we learn about all the “intimate” details of the work. Furthermore, the mystical figure of a falcon appears in the most difficult moments of its journey against terrible ordeals.

It's a super read and has a lot to add with all the connections it brings. As much as the author did not intend to make spirituality/religiosity an almost “main factor” of the work, it is interesting to highlight this detail, as much of the Uryyah's personality and events and even the retraction of the other characters have a connection with religiosity and it's fantastic how the author designed it so that everything fits perfectly together.

Other productions you should check out are The Hawk's Gaze, The Mystery of Qat-Maireon (in Abyssal: Terror of the Depths) and The House at the Creek's End (in The Age of Myths). On Amazon's website you can find everything and much more about this amazing author.
