Before you start reading this review, I would like to point out that it is something very personal. After all, after having read and reread this book, it is impossible not to be transformed.

Le Petit Prince, known as The Little Prince in Brazil, is the work of the French writer, illustrator and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, first published in 1942 in the United States and, three years later, in France. The plot tells the story of the friendship between a man frustrated by no one understanding his drawings, with a little prince who inhabits an asteroid in space. The author of the book plays two very important roles in the story, he is the main character and also the narrator, telling about the day when his plane would have crashed in the middle of the Sahara desert. Despite being written and narrated by an adult, the book is aimed at children. The work has become a must-read around the world because it is so famous and in addition, it has been translated into more than eighty languages. Its pages contain valuable lessons on loneliness, friendship, time, life and death, shared with us through the small inhabitant of asteroid B 612, The Little Prince.

The essential is invisible to the eye, and can only be seen with the heart.

The plot is actually a sweet poem dedicated to childhood. It is a delicate trip to the planet that we gradually abandoned and started to live around our obligations, vanities, addictions, and everything that contains a “serious and important expression” in our life. na It is, in fact, an ode to childhood, a delicate trip to this planet that we gradually abandoned, living for the sake of our vanities, addictions, obligations, numbers and other “serious and important” things. Let yourself be conquered by the timeless fable of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and accompany the little prince on his journey towards our planet. Open your heart wide and close your eyes ... as the book emphasizes, just remember to close your eyes a little and open the essentials well, for more than seventy years, it is invisible to the eyes.

The beauty of this book is precisely the transparency and innocence it conveys. The purity with which the boy sees situations is full of wisdom that few people have. And even though it is simple, it is profound and makes us think about everything around us. The plot is light and quiet. It is thought-provoking and noble in its message. Throughout his journey, the boy meets individuals who live isolated in their worlds and who cannot see anything but themselves. The same people he met, trapped in his own pride, in his own vanity and in different types of addictions and greed, we also know throughout our lives.

But most importantly, this book made me look at myself and ask myself, which box did I put myself in? There was a time not too distant when I was so creative and drew practically anything ... but, now it seems that this skill has fallen asleep ... I put a lot of things in front, so many jobs and countless other things to do that I thought or thought important and I ended up losing some things that before were everything to me. And the prince makes it seem so simple to put into words the feelings and the essential things in life, that awakens us this desire to be able to do the same.

I need to support two or three caterpillars if I want to meet the butterflies.

I feel that way about college… sometimes I have the feeling that I got lost, I thought so much was important and most of the things I do, I didn't even learn in college. But everything is a matter of perspective. Not everything in life will be as we want, dream or hope. Falling is part of success. And this book helps us to understand our journey with more wisdom and hope for different attitudes, with a little more kindness and sparkle in our eyes. One point I want to highlight, however, is that although the protagonist is a child, Saint-Exupéry he was an adult when he wrote the book. But still an adult capable of understanding a child's mind and having a different perspective on the Universe. Her life story and her upbringing contributed a lot to this, but this sensitivity is a natural gift that few people have and that many hope to achieve, like me.

The Little Prince and his rose / Reproduction

It is in this complicated moment of social isolation, coronavirus pandemic, high rates of violence against women, children, the poor, blacks, LGBTs… against people, I feel that I have reread The little Prince, the work fits perfectly in this moment. After having a vision hardened with the things of life, it is good to have something that reminds me of what it is like to see the world under the innocent eyes of a boy.

The little Prince it takes 05 “roses” out of five. Amazing!
