Transcendence- The Revolution is one of those films that has everything to work out, but in the end, they end up failing.

The premise of Transcendence- The Revolution I'ts very interesting. The feature shows us a new type of artificial intelligence, created by the couple of scientists, Will Caster (Johnny Depp) and Evelyn Caster (Rebecca Hall), together with the researcher friend, Max (Paul Bettany). As is to be expected, not everyone is in favor of this artificial intelligence, considering that it is just a “God complex” of the scientists involved, and for this reason Will ends up suffering an attack. This attempt leaves Will with his days numbered, making his wife decide to try to transfer her conscience to Trancendence, the much talked about machine.

Gradually we see “Will Software” prove that the theory of the God complex was correct, showing the tendency to try to control everything possible with the danger of, in fact, having access to all imaginable data.

Transcendence Johnny Depp

The film’s objective of creating the famous controversy of excess technology is quite clear, even remembering She in some moments. This question is really interesting, the problem is that it was misplaced in the feature.

The mistake here was, clearly, the beginner's script Jack Paglen. While we have this philosophical question to support the plot, we have a very warm and very, very still execution. As events unfold, we get a little bored, improving when the film climaxes (which gives us about 15/20 minutes of total interest).

In addition to the lack of Transcendence Morgan Freemandevelopment of the script, we also have the waste of cast, which frankly, has been happening a lot in Depp's recent features. Johnny Depp's character fell into the cliché of obsessed scientist, while the rest of the cast had a very faint participation, with the exception of Rebeca Hall. Morgan Freeman, for example, I was just there to give weight to the credits. The visual was also not very well used, in a production like this one expects nothing less than many special effects well done, worthy of good science fiction, and here this was not delivered.

Transcendence

I say with some regret that Transcendence- The Revolution it's not a good movie. Even with all the negative repercussions of the film in the USA, I had a certain hope that the production would have its moments of glory, after all, it has a good premise and a strong cast, but unfortunately, my hopes were lost.
