the comic book franchise Umbrella Academy of the brothers Gabriel Bá and Fábio Moon, has gained even greater popularity in recent years, as the Netflix developed the adaptation of the story into a series format.

The comic that had its first edition launched in 2007 wins the first spin off published in Brazil by To become, You are the face of death: Tales from the Umbrella Academy vol. 1.

The story of the Spin off follows the routine of Klaus, after being kicked out of the house by the Hargreeves, desolate, the character wanders to Hollywood. Things are not easy for the protagonist, the story highlights his innocence and explores the character's vices.

With marked characteristics, the character is not limited to that in the story, his humanitarian and kind side is a trait that is quite highlighted in his dialogues.

Despite being thrown out of the house during the story, there are several moments where Klaus emphasizes the affection and importance of his family for him, and this speaks volumes about the character and how he cares for the people around him.

On his journey the character encounters some problems, and some of them occur as a consequence of using Klaus' powers. The story has characters with rich narratives, including the villains, who despite being many, are all well explored and important to the plot, each with a different motivation, some of them being old acquaintances of the protagonist.

One of the strengths of Umbrella Academy as a whole is the way the creators develop different and eccentric villains, and this comic book is no different.

Some pages are quite scary and suffocating, as during the plot there are some very terrifying villains, and the comic book traces further mitigate this feeling in key moments for the villains.

The combination of Klaus and Hollywood is a perfect marriage as rice and beans, the setting is of paramount importance to the story and creates several narrative ramifications that meet in a grand and surprising ending.
