One of the most classic characters in games is back! Alex Kidd, famous hero with giant hands that break rocks returns almost 30 years later. And we've already done our Jan-Ken-Pon and smashed a lot of rocks – and the head – in this real challenge to jump in the right place and not fall on top of any birds.
back to the pastThe
Or rather, for the Master System! Alex Kidd came into the console's memory and it was a real – and often irritating – adventure. It was the time when you had to be patient and cold-blooded to know the right moment to jump to go from one end to the other, jump and punch to break stones or hit enemies.
Also, the game couldn't be saved! So it was in the race and without any walkers or influencers to explain you how to pass the screen. It was time to learn or give up the game! Fortunately, the vast majority followed the movie rule "Back Never, Surrender: Never!“. If you don't know, Google it.
Did you think it would be easy?
You can already see many grown men lifting their chins, snapping their fingers and saying: it's easy! I know, just because you have an affectionate memory of the game doesn't mean it is. On the contrary. the version Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX no and nothing “easy”. The challenges that made the game so exciting are there, and in the version we got for the PC, you couldn't move the controller left or right to hit the jump, as if that worked. But who has never played Enduro of Atari and did the curve with the body?
The game is a real patience class for those who are used to punching buttons or running away and killing anyone. In Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX, the player must know the exact moment when – again – to jump, punch and throw Jan-Ken-Pon! Now this is old school game!
Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX is a recreation of the original game, with a completely renewed look by the Jankenteam team. Another positive point is that if you want, you can choose to play with the classic look of the title, which makes it a real madness to keep changing the look during the game, to make comparisons and kill the longing.
As described above, the game is completely overhauled with a fantastic design and now with a bigger storyline. In the story we learn more about the Radaxian Realm where everyone was turned to stone by the villain Janken the Great.
And to learn more about the story, you can rest assured that the title is in Brazilian Portuguese, so there are no excuses for not understanding the dialogues. In addition, the game brought new levels and a completely renewed system of battle against bosses!
The game still maintains its platform style as the original, but with some changes, as was to be expected for the new technological generation, but nothing that gets in the way, on the contrary, it just improved.
The original Alex Kidd was slower, even if the character flew across the screen, while his remake is much more mind-blowing. This left him with a bigger challenge and yet remember how complicated the original title was.
Another positive point is the soundtrack. Yes, she is present! Alex Kidd's “little song” is back, a little revamped, but it's still the same repetitive that everyone loved!
Finally, if you want to play the classic version, with the controls, physics and everything that made Alex Kidd famous in the Master System, you'll have to finish the game. So get down to work and… Jan-ken-Pon!
Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch and PRAÇA via Steam or Epic.
