Review | Far Cry 6 Pagan: Control

Far Cry 6 Pagan: Control may not be such an innovative experience, but it's still a DLC full of psychological conflicts that will delight fans of the saga.

The newest DLC from Far Cry 6 just arrived. After the fans can play Far Cry 6: Vaas – Insanity with one of the franchise's favorite villains, Vaas, players will now be able to control Pagan Min.

Just as fans could get to know a little more about Vaas before, now they will be able to delve into Pagan Min's past in Far Cry 6 Pagan: Control. However, different or because of the previous DLC, this game doesn't take advantage of every opportunity to create a more diverse experience, getting even a little tiring, but it's still valid.

The story

Behind Pagan Min's calm and collected demeanor is a relentless fury. Get inside his mind and fight his inner demons in this never-before-seen DLC episode. Reveal the story behind this iconic villain and explore unparalleled locations in a bizarre version of Kyrat to grab keys and escape your own mind in this die-and-try-again experience.

The game

What sets the Far Cry franchise apart from other similar games is its story and plot-packed characters. In Control we have our villain's attempt to far cry 4, to reconcile with his true nature. And again we go back to the inner part, that is, in Pagan's mind, showing how she is distorted and exaggerated based on her whims. Nothing different from what we already know.

For those who played the fourth game, you will realize all the megalomania of the character, all his extravagance, among other things that made him, as well as Vaas, an unforgettable villain. In addition, her vulnerability and melancholy are also present.

An interesting point is to see Pagan trying to show himself as a tragic and misunderstood hero, while his mind tries to make him accept reality, that he is a totally narcissistic, flawed and bad person.

Pagan: Control's gameplay follows the same as Vaas: Insanity, meaning you start with just a pistol and a few healing syringes. From there, you'll have to explore the map and points of interest and unlock weapons and mods from the arsenal.

Of course, this is the premise of playing any game of the style, no matter what it is. But what makes it a little repetitive is that Control has changed little from the previous DLC in terms of Mirror perks.

So it doesn't seem like this DCL is really worth having. But not quite. Even with an experience almost the same as the previous one, Control if taken by the psychological side, which must be done, is a sensational title.

Of course, unlocking various weapons among other parts is advantageous and fun, but if you play just thinking about that aspect, you will miss the whole plot in which Pagan is inserted. And that, again, is what makes Far Cry different.

The franchise games were made with characters rich in every way. And if they weren't, the franchise would have died a long time ago and we wouldn't have the return of these important villains either.
