Review | Far Cry 6: The Vanishing, a crossover with Stranger Things

Stranger Things DLC titled Far Cry 6: The Vanishing is the best so far in the game.

It's impressive how Ubisoft is treating the sixth game in the franchise Far cry. After receiving some DLCs with characters from the old games, the company innovates by making a crossover entitled The Vanishing, which is nothing more than the universe of Stranger Things.

The Vanishing brings a stealth-horror-survival gameplay experience to Far Cry for the first time, with mysterious characters and new stories. In The Vanishing, players will enter a twisted version of Yara inspired by the Inverted World, where Dani discovers that Yaranos are disappearing.

Players will be able to explore locations inspired by Stranger Things, such as a hidden bunker and an abandoned laboratory. Dani's mission is to search for Chorizo and find out what happened to the kidnapped Yaranos.

a new game

Unlike what happened previously with the DLCs of Bows and pay, which were practically the same, this new Far Cry 6 is completely “out of this world”. The entire look and design is unique, reminiscent of horror and survival games in many ways, especially its weapons that look like they came out of war titles.

Like the other DLCs, this is a quick game, which the player will be able to finish in up to an hour and a half at most. The title follows the Far Cry pattern, but much more embedded within Netflix's Stranger Things universe. Players through Dani, will face various types of challenges and totally strange enemies as in the series.

The script of this adventure, as shown above, follows the same style as the Netflix series, so those who like this style of narrative will delight in this adventure. The challenges for a fast-paced game like this are exciting. But don't expect simple-to-kill enemies. With a very rich atmosphere, with color nuances aimed at the series, this is not a DLC like the previous ones where you will end up and not come back to play again.

The Vanishing will make you return at least a few more times to see if you haven't missed any details, in addition to being very interesting to have an adventure that doesn't even feel like we're in Yara.

Worth it?

Without giving away any spoilers, Far Cry 6: The Vanishing is the best DLC so far in the game. By bringing different elements and coming from Stranger Things, in addition to elements of survival horror, this adventure excites any fan of the series, of Far Cry who are looking for news and should also bring some new players who don't have the game yet!
