The SAGA, a network of gaming and digital art schools in Brazil, and the Secretariat of Economic Development and Labor (SMDET), gives São Paulo City Hall, join in an unprecedented partnership to offer free gaming courses in São Paulo for young people.
Interested parties have until June 30th to register free of charge through cate's portal in the following courses offered by SAGA: Introduction to Games, Introduction to 2D Animation and Introduction to Photoshop. Students will be able to choose to take classes online or in person at SAGA units in São Paulo.
“This is the first of many actions that we are planning together with the City of São Paulo. In addition to opening doors for those interested in taking the first steps in their career as a game developer, in the future, we intend to carry out actions that involve other initiatives related to electronic games”, he explains. Fabiano Holtsmann, head of partnerships at SAGA. “SAGA and SMDET wish to walk together in these promising and important universes for the young audience”.

And in order to achieve excellence in our programs and initiatives, we are looking for partners who have expertise in the matter so that together we can create joint actions between the public power and the private sector”, comments the secretary of Economic Development and Work, Aline Cardoso. “The content, in addition to being differentiated, can be the gateway to a profitable career full of opportunities”, he concludes.
To register for one of the free courses, those interested must be over 11 years old. Each course lasts six hours and there is no limit on seats. After registering on the site, the SAGA team will contact the students to inform the available days and times.

Introduction to games:
With an introduction to the Unreal Engine tool, used in games from established franchises such as Fortnite, Mortal Kombat and Mass Effect, the student will have an understanding of the basic mechanics, the system and the game prototype.
Introduction to 2D animation:
Perfect for those who dream of being motion designer, the course presents the numerous possibilities offered by the After Effects software. The area is one of the most sought after in the electronic game development market.
Introduction to Photoshop:
The student will learn to edit images and explore their creativity with the Photoshop tool, the most used image editor in the creative industry. You will even be taught how to create an animation using the Cinemagraph technique.
