I am not of the generation that saw “Minduim” grow; in fact, I am the one who, when he was born, “Peanuts” was already a huge success! It's hard not to remember childhood when it comes to Snoopy and Charlie Brown! It’s even harder to see Snoopy and Charlie Brown: Peanuts, The Movie (The Peanuts Movie, EUA, 2015) without having a feeling of nostalgia, but I must already say that production is also geared towards new generations.

All the characteristics of the comic strips and TV animation are present. Snoopy, with its Walter Mitty (character played by Ben Stillerin the feature The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and his enormous imagination, he is responsible not only for the funniest scenes, but also for much of the action, since he faces the Red Baron (reference to the legendary German pilot of the First World War) in his plane. Charlie is responsible for the most sensitive, intimate and romantic part of the story. Each character continues with their incredible personalities (Patty Pimentinha and Lucy remain my favorites). Lucy is one of the most mature in the class. With his questioning and grumpy way, he is a naturally charismatic character! Only this time. we have a new child in the class: the red-haired girl, with whom Charlie falls in love. For a moment, I even thought we wouldn't see her face, just the profile; but the little girl appears and shows herself to be quite perceptive!

Snoopy and Charlie Brown: Peanuts, The Movie is focused on Charlie Brown's big dilemma when trying to finally change his luck. More than just getting a kite to fly, he wants to be a winner, someone important and, for that, he tries everything, always ending in disaster! Until when he least expects it, luck changes! In parallel, we have Snoopy with his fantastic stories, always supporting his friend!

The film has a simple plot, with good funny scenes and, despite being more modern - after all we have 3D and CG -, the director Steve Martino (Ice Age 4) managed to maintain the classic spirit that refers to the comic strips. Peanuts there are child characters who carry a mature approach between lines, without losing the childish tone, and this is very well conveyed in the plot. Any older fan will clearly realize that the feature is almost a tribute to its origin.

While maintaining the classic, nostalgic and even melancholic tone, the film will certainly reach the new generation. With the excellent technique, the animation will take the kids to have a good laugh and the adults will have fun with the balconies of the characters. Anyway, it is a long film, which will make the new generation and the old one leave the cinema much lighter, wanting to see or review the stories of Charles Schulz, the creator.
