Weeks before the premiere, Paramount Pictures released the video for the single that will pack Sonic - The Movie. The stars of hip hop Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yatchy and Swedish The Child came together in Speed Me Up, theme song for the blue hedgehog feature.
The song was produced by the producer Take A Daytrip and arrives along with visual material in which the four rappers are transformed into characters from the Sonic video game. The lyrics are packed with traditional 80's hip hop bringing nostalgia to get in the mood for the film's release.

Speed Me Up was supervised by Kevin Weaver, President of Atlantic Records West Coast. Nicknamed by Rolling Stone as the “soundtrack guru”, Weaver has won a GRAMMY and has been nominated five times. He has produced numerous multi-platinum soundtrack projects that accumulate over ten million albums sold worldwide.
Sonic - The Movie is a live-action adventure based on Sega's worldwide video game franchise that tells the story of the world's most famous blue hedgehog. The film follows Sonic's adventures as he tries to adapt to new life on Earth with his new best human friend, policeman Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try to prevent the villain Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) capture Sonic and use his powers to dominate humanity.
