Sonic- The Movie | Jim Carrey reveals what it was like to live Dr. Robotnik


The expectation for the debut of Sonic- The Movie is high among admirers of the star's work Jim Carrey, since he plays the villain Dr. Robotnik in the feature. "When I got the call to make Sonic I was very excited", says the actor in a backstage video released.

The material features new scenes of Robotnik trying to defeat Sonic, while Jim Carrey talks about his character. “He's a crazy guy! (…) He wants to control humanity with his machines and Sonic has the power he needs to control the world ”. The star also says in the video that he had a lot of fun during the recording and that he feels very lucky with the opportunity. “Being able to make a film that brings good memories and connects with new generations is amazing”.

Sonic - The Movie is a live-action adventure based on Sega's worldwide video game franchise that tells the story of the world's most famous blue hedgehog. The film follows Sonic's adventures as he tries to adapt to the new life on Earth with his new best human friend, the cop Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try to prevent the villain Dr. Robotnik from capturing Sonic and using his powers to dominate humanity.

Directed by Jeff Fowler, written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller, the film also features in the cast Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz, as the voice of Sonic, which in Brazil will be voiced by Manolo Rey.

Sonic- The Movie opens in theaters in Brazil on February 13.
