The Consultant | Prime Video Announces New Drama Series Starring Christoph Waltz

Prime Video Announces New Original Amazon Drama Series The Consultant, from MGM Television and Amazon Studios. Starring the Oscar winner Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained; inglorious bastards), the production will be released exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories. Tony Basgallop (Servant) is the creator and will act as showrunner and executive producer, and Matt Shakman (WandaVision) is the director and executive producer. Waltz also serves as executive producer alongside Steve Stark and Andrew Mittman, and Kai Dolbashian will be co-producer.

Inspired by Bentley Little's 2015 novel The Consultant is a dark comic thriller that explores the sinister relationship between boss and employee, questioning how far we'll go in progressing and surviving in the workplace.

“It's a great honor to have the talents of Matt Shakman and Christoph Waltz on this project I developed with the team at 1.21 and Toluca Pictures,” said Basgallop. "And with MGM and Amazon Studios, we've found partners who aren't afraid to be bold and explosive."

"With The Consultant, Tony Basgallop created something bold with equal parts wild humor and delicious emotions,” said Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon Studios. "We are thrilled to collaborate with him and the entire creative team to bring this extraordinary and must-see series to our Prime Video customers around the world."

The Consultant is a scathing satire about the workplace that is as suspenseful as it is darkly funny,” said Michael Wright, head of fictional TV productions at MGM. "Tony has created something truly unexpected with this series and we are excited to partner with Amazon and this brilliant creative team to bring the story to life for audiences around the world."
