The Conrad Publisher launches this month an unprecedented version of the comic book The End of the F***ing World – The End of the F***ing World in Portuguese, a story that inspired the series of Netflix. The comic created by the American cartoonist Charles Forsman, in 2008, addresses the routine of a bored teenage couple, with existential conflicts and who start committing crimes as a way to give meaning to life.
The work brings together a mix of drama and comedy under a simple narrative. Charles is known for being one of the best comics of the new generation of American authors. Besides The End of the F *** ing World the artist is responsible for the success I Am Not Okay With This which also became a Netflix series.
Bringing Forsman's comic to Brazilian fans was one of Conrad's goals, he explains Cassius Medauar, editorial manager of the brand of Ibep Group. According to him, the publisher responds to a request from Brazilian comic book fans who felt the lack of knowledge of the original content.
“It was also an old Conrad wish to publish the Portuguese version. Given the numerous requests that our readers made, the publisher struggled to obtain the copyright. With this step completed, we made available the printed format and also the ebook format”, explains Medauar.
